Amukpe-Escravos Pipeline Boosts Crude Evacuation — Expert

The Amukpe-Escravos Pipeline has significantly improved Nigeria’s crude oil evacuation and export reliability since becoming operational in 2022, an industry expert has said.

The pipeline, which connects inland crude production facilities to the Escravos export terminal, is credited with reducing reliance on road transportation and minimising disruptions caused by logistics challenges.

According to the expert, the infrastructure has enhanced efficiency in moving crude oil, helping to curb losses associated with theft and pipeline vandalism.

It has also improved export consistency, enabling operators to meet delivery timelines and strengthen Nigeria’s position in the global oil market.

Industry stakeholders say the pipeline plays a vital role in addressing longstanding bottlenecks in crude evacuation, particularly in the Niger Delta region.

They added that the project supports increased production capacity and provides a more secure and cost-effective means of transporting crude.

Analysts believe continued investment in such infrastructure will be key to boosting Nigeria’s oil output and revenue generation.

The development underscores the importance of modern pipeline systems in enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring sustainability in the country’s oil sector.
