Government Alone Can’t Tackle Nigeria’s Challenges, Says Speaker Abbas

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has said that the Nigerian government cannot address the country’s numerous challenges alone, stressing the need for stronger collaboration with faith-based organisations, the private sector and civil society groups.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ engagement, Abbas noted that national development requires collective action, urging all sectors of society to contribute their expertise and resources towards solving pressing issues such as insecurity, unemployment, poverty and economic development.
The Speaker said faith-based organisations, traditional institutions, non-governmental organisations and private businesses have critical roles to play in promoting peace, social cohesion and sustainable development across the country.
According to him, effective partnerships between government and non-state actors would strengthen policy implementation, improve service delivery and foster inclusive growth that benefits all Nigerians.
Abbas also called on citizens to actively participate in nation-building by supporting government initiatives, promoting unity and embracing dialogue as a means of addressing national concerns.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the National Assembly to enacting legislation that encourages collaboration, accountability and good governance, while creating an enabling environment for development partners to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s progress.
The Speaker maintained that only through shared responsibility and collective effort can Nigeria overcome its challenges and achieve lasting peace, stability and economic prosperity.
