Osun Poll Result Will Reflect People’s Will, Says INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured political parties, candidates and voters that the outcome of the August 15 Osun State election will reflect the genuine will of the people.

The commission reaffirmed its commitment to conducting a free, fair, credible and inclusive election, stating that all necessary preparations are being made to ensure a transparent electoral process.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ engagement, INEC officials said the commission has strengthened its operational plans, logistics and voter education efforts to guarantee that every valid vote counts. The electoral body also pledged to deploy electoral materials and personnel promptly across polling units.

INEC urged political parties and their supporters to conduct peaceful campaigns and avoid acts capable of undermining the integrity of the election. It also called on security agencies, civil society organisations and election observers to continue supporting efforts to ensure a peaceful and credible poll.

The commission encouraged eligible voters to come out on election day, assuring them that adequate measures have been put in place to safeguard the voting process and ensure transparency from accreditation to the declaration of results.

INEC reiterated that the credibility of the Osun election remains a top priority, expressing confidence that the process would strengthen public trust in Nigeria’s democratic institutions and accurately reflect the choice of the electorate.
