APC Mocks Obasanjo, Kwankwaso, Duke Over 2027 Election Strategy

1 min read

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed the recent meeting between ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, and former Cross River Governor Donald Duke, describing their efforts as irrelevant to the political future of Nigeria.

The trio met in Abeokuta to discuss strategies for the 2027 general elections, though the details of their discussion remain undisclosed.

In response, APC’s National Publicity Director, Bala Ibrahim, ridiculed their political influence, emphasizing that President Bola Tinubu’s position in Nigerian politics has overshadowed these figures.

He claimed that no combination of the three, along with other past political contenders like Peter Obi, could pose a threat to Tinubu or his government.

Ibrahim pointed out that despite Obasanjo’s past efforts to back other candidates like former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Peter Obi—both of whom were defeated by Tinubu—the APC government remains unshaken.

He further dismissed any potential threat posed by the ongoing meetings, asserting that the individuals involved have already been decisively defeated in previous elections.
