Although we do not know for certain how the late hip-hop rapper, Olaitain Olanipekun, a.k.a. Dagrin came about his catchy flows, one thing is clear: it was not the occult, or any kind of magic, that gave him his music prowess but hard work, endless practice and the many he learnt from his father, Comrade Olaniyi Abolaji Olanipekun.
Unknown to many, Dagrin’s dad is a music lover and non-commercial singer, whose life revolves round music. As a music promoter, he has worked with lots of music stars, both in the Fuji and Juju music industries. Comrade Olanipekun is popularly known as Nelly in the music industry.
Apart from music, Dagrin’s dad has also made a name for himself in the real estate sector. He owns an eye-popping property at Meiran, in Lagos, a magnificent house he built in 1983. Besides he also has choice properties in Ifo and Iyana Ilogbo, both in Ogun state, including several hectares of land at Oluke village in Itori community, Ogun State. He is said to be planning to build a hotel soon.
