Twitter restricts unverified users from reading above 300 posts per day
1 min readMicroblogging site, Twitter has slammed restrictions on users’ number of post reads per day in a bid to curb data scraping and system manipulation.
The platform’s Executive Chairman, Elon Musk, announced this via his Twitter handle on Saturday.

He said the restrictions are a temporary measure.
According to the new rule, verified accounts are limited to reading 6,000 posts per day, unverified accounts 600 posts per day, and new unverified accounts to 300 posts per day.
Musk’s announcement was welcomed with knocks, with many condemning the restrictions, which they said was a plot to make more users subscribe to the Twitter blue badge.
Society Watch recalls that Twitter’s new owner, Elon Musk, came under heavy criticism last year after launching a new subscription service for $7.99 a month.
