SPRiNG Expands Peace, Security Interventions in Plateau

Jos, Nigeria – The Strengthening Peace and Resilience in Nigeria (SPRiNG) Programme has announced a strategic shift towards scaling up successful peacebuilding, security, and social inclusion interventions across Plateau State.

The programme said the new phase will focus on expanding proven pilot initiatives while strengthening collaboration with government institutions, community leaders, and civil society organizations.

According to programme officials, the goal is to build on existing successes in conflict prevention, community engagement, and social cohesion to promote lasting peace in the state.

SPRiNG noted that institutional partnerships will play a key role in ensuring the sustainability of interventions and improving local capacity to address security and development challenges.

The initiative also aims to enhance inclusion by supporting the participation of women, youths, and vulnerable groups in peacebuilding and decision-making processes.

Stakeholders welcomed the move, describing it as a timely effort to consolidate gains made in fostering stability and reducing tensions in communities affected by conflict.

The programme reaffirmed its commitment to working with relevant partners to strengthen resilience, promote peaceful coexistence, and support sustainable development across Plateau State.
