Kebbi Gov Orders Security Review Amid Rising Bandit Attacks

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has directed security agencies to immediately review existing security strategies following a recent surge in bandit attacks across parts of the state.
The governor expressed concern over the increasing incidents of violence and criminal activities, stressing that the protection of lives and property remains a top priority of his administration.
Idris said the security review is aimed at identifying gaps in current operations and strengthening measures to effectively combat banditry and other security threats affecting communities.
He assured residents that the state government would continue working closely with security agencies and relevant stakeholders to improve intelligence gathering, enhance surveillance, and respond swiftly to emerging threats.
The governor also urged citizens to support security efforts by providing useful information that could assist authorities in preventing attacks and apprehending criminal elements.
Residents of affected communities have called for intensified security operations, expressing hope that the review will lead to stronger protection and lasting peace across the state.
The directive comes amid growing concerns over insecurity in parts of the North-West, where authorities continue efforts to curb the activities of bandits and restore stability to affected areas.
