EPL: Jenas Reveals Worse Arsenal Player In 2 -1 Win Over Newcastle
1 min readFormer Tottenham player, Jermaine Jenas, has launched a scathing attack on Arsenal star man, Mesut Ozil, for not helping the club enough.
Ozil doubled Arsenal’s lead in Saturday’s Premier League clash at Newcastle United but Jenas said his effort was not enough.
After a goalless first half, Unai Emery’s Arsenal took the lead on 49 minutes as Granit Xhaka fired home from a free-kick.
Ozil doubled the Gunners’ advantage ten minutes later before Ciaran Clark scored a consolation goal late on for the home side.
Despite Ozil scoring his first goal for the season, Jenas saw him as the worse player for Emery’s side.
Jeans said the German needs to dictate games more regularly like David Silva and Eden Hazard.
“It’s a tricky one. For what Ozil is within that team – the wages and everything like that – I want him to dictate games,” Metro quoted Jenas as saying.
“Like David Silva does for Manchester City or what Eden Hazard does for Chelsea. I don’t feel he does that.
“Even today the feeling is he’s got away with one a bit. He didn’t really produce anything and then one has dropped for him and he’s slotted it away and it adds to his stats.
“I can’t remember the last time he got hold of a game and just ran the show like top midfielders in his position do.”
