DIDN’T ABANDON GOV YUSUF; I STILL LIKE HIM — KWANKWASO

Former Kano State Governor and National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has said he has not abandoned the incumbent Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, despite recent political developments and realignments.

Kwankwaso said his relationship with Governor Yusuf remains cordial, stressing that he still has affection for the governor and has not turned his back on him.

The former governor made the clarification amid speculation over his political relationship with Yusuf following a series of developments within the Kano political landscape.

Kwankwaso, who played a major role in Yusuf’s emergence as governor in 2023, has remained a prominent figure in Kano politics and the wider opposition movement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

His comments come amid ongoing political realignments involving major political figures, with politicians across different parties repositioning ahead of the next elections.

Kwankwaso maintained that political differences and changing alliances should not automatically be interpreted as personal hostility, insisting that his position towards Governor Yusuf remains unchanged.
