CITY BUSINESSMAN, REMI AWODE SUFFERS GREAT LOSS

Wednesday, March 11, 2015 would forever remain indelible in the mind of city businessman, Remi Awode. It was a day gloom and sadness visited him, that misfortunes and quandary made a stop by at his home.

On that black day, news swirled round town that Awode’s corporate headquarters of his topmost paint manufacturing company, Chemstar Paints Industries Nigeria Limited, producers of Finecoat Paints in Alagbado had been gutted by fire.

The news came as a shock because it was only few days after AIT Television was razed down by fire and the two companies are not far away from each other.

Apart from losing millions to the inferno, five of his staff members were also seriously injured.

According to a source, the fire started from the factory section of the company. But in a conflicting report, some said it was during the uploading of fuel that the fire erupted, while another source said it was during the production of some paints.

Since the disaster occurred, Awode, a staunch Celestial church member has remained inconsolable. At the moment, sympathizers, both the rich and poor have continued to send their condolences to him.
