BENUE PDP GUBER CANDIDATE AONDOAKAA URGES CALM AFTER CAMPAIGN ITEMS DESTROYED

The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Benue State, Michael Aondoakaa, has appealed to his supporters to remain calm following reports of the destruction of campaign materials associated with his 2027 governorship campaign.
Aondoakaa urged his supporters not to respond to the incident with violence, stressing that political disagreements should not be allowed to threaten peace or democratic participation in the state.
He called on those supporting his candidacy to remain peaceful and law-abiding, saying provocation should not be allowed to escalate tensions as political activities ahead of the 2027 election intensify.
Reports circulating in the state alleged that campaign materials bearing Aondoakaa’s image were destroyed. The reports have not been independently verified, and there has been no confirmed public response from those accused of involvement.
The incident comes at a time of heightened political activity in Benue, with political parties and their candidates stepping up mobilisation and grassroots engagement ahead of the governorship election.
