Ayedatiwa Leads In 13 LGs As Results Of Ondo Guber Election Roll In
1 min readLucky Ayedatiwa, the incumbent governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, is leading in 13 out of Ondo State’s 18 local government areas as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) continues to announce results from Saturday’s gubernatorial election.
At the time of reporting, Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, the State Returning Officer for the election and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State, confirmed that the collation of results had officially resumed at 12:10 a.m. on Sunday.
Ayedatiwa’s APC party had a dominant performance in several areas, including Idanre Local Government, where the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is traditionally strong.

In key local government areas such as Ifedore, Ondo East, and Ile Oluji/Oke Igbo, Ayedatiwa secured significant victories, including a notable 14,157 votes in Ifedore, far outstripping the PDP’s 5,897 votes. Similarly, in Ondo East, Ayedatiwa’s APC garnered 8,163 votes, defeating the PDP’s 2,843 votes.
In the hotly contested Idanre Local Government, despite accusations of ballot snatching and alleged non-compliance with voting procedures in some wards, Ayedatiwa’s APC narrowly won with 9,114 votes, against PDP’s 8,940.
Other notable wins for the APC include strong showings in Akoko South West, Akoko North West, Akure South, and Owo, where the party clinched over 30,000 votes in each, outpacing the PDP by wide margins.
Collation of the results will continue at 5 a.m., with final results expected from the remaining five local government areas.
