Alleged N630m Loan Forgery: First Bank Executives To Face Reps C’tee

The executives of First bank PLC are expected to be grilled by the House of Representatives Committee on Public Petition today as the allegation bothering on forged documents involving a N630 million loan controversy between First bank PLC and White plane British School rages on.

The banks’ top notchers are to answer questions on allegations that the documents involving the N630 million debts claimed against the British school were falsified

Led by Honorable Uzoma Nkem-Abonta, the Public Petition Committee told the Nigerian Pilot Wednesday that it was out to ensure justice for both parties and as such would dig deep into the allegations to determine what actually went wrong.

The panel said it was set to begin the investigative hearing today, Thursday, March 21.

Recall that in a petition dated November 26, 2018 and signed by the school’s Administrator, Dr Francis Nwufoh, the petitioner accused the bank of using forged documents to seal the school premises over a loan which repayment tenure had not expired.

The school said the bank unilaterally sealed off the school over the N630m loan scheduled to expire in three months time, precisely June 12, this year.
