ADAMAWA GOV WARNS HERDERS AGAINST TAKING LAW INTO THEIR HANDS
Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has warned Fulani herders against taking the law into their own hands following a peace agreement reached in Song Local Government Area.
The governor urged herders to respect the law and avoid actions capable of threatening peace and security in their communities.
Fintiri’s warning followed efforts to broker peace in the area, where tensions have raised concerns about peaceful coexistence among residents.
He stressed the importance of resolving disputes through lawful channels rather than resorting to violence or taking unilateral action.
The peace initiative is aimed at reducing tensions and encouraging dialogue among affected communities. The governor’s warning also highlights the need for residents to cooperate with security agencies and community leaders to prevent further conflict.
Maintaining lasting peace will depend on the willingness of all parties to respect agreements, settle disagreements peacefully and uphold the rule of law.
