Oloyede hands over as Professor Segun Aina assumes office as new JAMB Registrar

After a decade of leading the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Is-haq Oloyede has officially handed over leadership of the examination body to Professor Segun Aina, who has assumed office as the new Registrar.

The handover ceremony marked the end of Professor Oloyede’s 10-year tenure, during which JAMB introduced major reforms aimed at improving the credibility, transparency, and efficiency of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and its admission processes.

Speaking at the event, Professor Oloyede expressed gratitude to the Federal Government, JAMB staff, and stakeholders for their support throughout his tenure. He urged the new Registrar to sustain the board’s commitment to integrity, innovation, and excellence in the administration of admissions into Nigeria’s tertiary institutions.

Professor Segun Aina pledged to build on the achievements of his predecessor by strengthening JAMB’s digital transformation, improving service delivery, and ensuring a transparent and efficient admissions system for candidates nationwide.

Stakeholders in the education sector have welcomed the leadership transition, expressing confidence that the new Registrar will continue reforms that enhance public trust in Nigeria’s tertiary admission process.
