REMI TINUBU: 100,000 PUPILS TO GET ₦20,000 EACH

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has announced a ₦2 billion Learners Retention Support Programme under which 100,000 pupils will receive ₦20,000 each to support their continued participation in education.
The initiative is aimed at helping pupils remain in school by providing financial assistance to ease some of the challenges that can prevent children from attending classes regularly.
The programme is expected to support families facing financial difficulties and encourage school attendance, particularly among vulnerable learners.
The announcement comes amid concerns about the number of children out of school in Nigeria and the financial pressures facing many households.
The ₦2 billion allocation, if fully implemented as announced, would provide ₦20,000 to each of the 100,000 selected pupils.
Further details about the eligibility requirements, selection process, participating schools and payment arrangements are expected to clarify how pupils will benefit from the programme.
