Anambra Seeks Evidence Against Arrested ‘Fake’ Pastors
Awka, Nigeria – The Anambra State Government has called on residents to provide credible evidence against individuals arrested for allegedly posing as pastors and engaging in fraudulent and criminal activities.
The government said the appeal is aimed at strengthening ongoing investigations and ensuring the successful prosecution of suspects accused of exploiting members of the public under the guise of religious activities.
Officials noted that anyone with relevant information, testimonies, or documentary evidence is encouraged to come forward and assist law enforcement agencies in building a strong case against the accused persons.
According to the state government, the crackdown forms part of broader efforts to sanitize the religious space and protect residents from fraud, deception, and other criminal practices.
Authorities assured members of the public that all information provided would be treated confidentially and used strictly for investigative purposes.
The government reiterated its commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that individuals found guilty of criminal conduct are brought to justice, regardless of their status or profession.
