Kano CP Warns CID Officers Against Corruption, Unlawful Detention

The Commissioner of Police in Kano State, Ibrahim Bakori, has warned officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) against engaging in corruption, unlawful detention, and other forms of unprofessional conduct.

Bakori issued the warning during a meeting with CID personnel, stressing the need for officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and operate strictly within the provisions of the law.

The police commissioner emphasized that respect for human rights, due process, and ethical conduct must remain central to all investigative activities. He cautioned officers against actions that could undermine public confidence in the police force or tarnish its reputation.

According to him, unlawful detention, extortion, and abuse of office will not be tolerated, urging personnel to remain committed to justice, fairness, and accountability in the discharge of their duties.

Bakori also encouraged officers to strengthen investigative practices, maintain integrity, and ensure that all cases are handled professionally and transparently.

The CP reiterated the command’s commitment to enforcing discipline within the force and promoting a policing culture anchored on the rule of law, public trust, and respect for citizens’ rights.

The warning forms part of ongoing efforts by the Kano State Police Command to improve service delivery and enhance professionalism among officers across the state.
