Why I Haven’t Gotten New Job Since Leaving Super Eagles – Peseiro

1 min read

Jose Peseiro has opened up on his failure to get a new job since he left the Super Eagles.

Peseiro quit the role with Nigeria after managing the three-time African champions for 22 months.

This followed the expiration of his contract.

The former Saudi Arabia and Venezuela coach guided the West Africans to second position at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

The Portuguese has been linked with a number of coaching jobs since leaving Nigeria.

He however said he is still waiting for the right project.

“I honestly don’t see myself coaching another team in Portugal, even though there are projects that I’m excited about,” Peseiro told Portuguese news outlet Ojogo.

“So far, it hasn’t happened. I’ve had offers to return to Portugal, once again, but I haven’t. It’s not because I don’t like the country or our football.”
