Wike Will Become Political Orphan To Tinubu – Sule Lamido
2 min readFormer Governor of Jigawa State and ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Sule Lamido, has described President Bola Tinubu’s Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, as a “willing character” who will eventually become a political orphan to Tinubu.
In an interview with Tribune on Saturday, Lamido expressed his views on the current political landscape in Nigeria, stating that Wike’s actions are a reflection of the Nigerian political culture. “Wike is our creation, we made him. Where was Wike in 1999? Somebody who was your own invention, whom you thought you could develop, groom as a future leader now tells you that he is his own person now, what do you do?” he asked rhetorically.

Lamido described Wike as a “political orphan” who will eventually lose his relevance in Tinubu’s political scheme. “Wike will become a political orphan to Tinubu. He is being used to destroy the PDP, but ultimately, he will lose because the entire arrangement is unholy; it is immoral, it is un-Nigerian,” he said.
The former governor emphasized that the PDP is a reflection of the Nigerian people and that the party’s crises are a manifestation of the country’s overall challenges. He stressed the need for discipline, patriotism, and tolerance in addressing the nation’s problems.
Lamido also attributed Tinubu’s success to his ability to manipulate the system. “He is a self-made man, and he has been able to manipulate the system to his advantage. He has a lot of experience and has been able to build a strong network of supporters,” he added.
When asked about his assessment of Tinubu’s administration, Lamido declined to comment, citing his position as a member of the opposition party. However, he expressed his desire for a genuine and sincere approach to addressing Nigeria’s challenges, rather than mere political expediency.
