MIKEL OBI’S BROTHER, EDGAR STAGES COMEBACK
1 min readJohn Obi Mikel’s younger brother, Patrick Tochukwu Obi is on the verge of launching his career back. While his brother is making fame and success on the turf, the younger Obi wants to make his fortune as a singer and record label owner.
Taking the name Edgar, the former footballer whose football career was cut short by injury hit the music scene three years ago as a rapper. With the help of his brother, he floated a record label called Matured Money Minds (MMM) and signed four artistes namely Charass, No2, Mr Jay and Kido unto the label.
The label made waves for a while with its snazzy and sequined allure but later lost its grandeur.
Among all the artistes on the label including Edgar himself, no one could stand the test of time except for Charass who is said to have gotten the talent. Charass enjoyed the klieg light for a while but it wasn’t long that he too fizzled out. And since then, nothing much has been heard of the label. But just like the mythical bird that rose from its ashes, Edgar seems to have gotten
the needed boost to salvage his music career. Knowing fully his limitations, Edgar has now shifted his focus on reinvigorating Charass’ dwindling career with the remix of Cocoa Butter, Charass’ then hit single. The new track featured rap star, Phyno and Afro-pop star Davido. The video has since been shot and it’s now enjoying ample airplay
