Before this heartbreaking incident, Omolayo was said to have engaged in a brief disagreement with family members, during which he expressed suicidal thoughts.

A source informed Daily Trust on Friday that he left his home early in the morning, and notably, no suicide note was found.

However, a bottle containing the substance was located next to him.

The police have begun an investigation into the incident, with some family members of the deceased invited for questioning. Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, confirmed the incident, noting that an investigation had begun.
