027: Oyo APC Members Protest, Demand Rotation Arrangement
Members of the (APC) in Oyo State staged a protest at the party’s secretariat, demanding adherence to the agreed rotational arrangement ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election.
The protesters insisted that the zoning principle must be respected to ensure fairness, inclusivity, and balance among different constituencies.
Carrying placards and chanting slogans, the party members warned against any attempt to sideline the established arrangement, describing it as crucial to party unity.
They urged the leadership of the APC to uphold internal agreements and avoid actions that could trigger division within the party.
Some of the demonstrators noted that the rotation system has long been a guiding principle in managing political representation in the area.
Party officials have yet to issue an official response, but sources indicate that consultations are ongoing to address the concerns raised.
Political observers say the protest reflects growing tensions within party ranks as stakeholders position ahead of the 2027 elections.
They added that how the issue is handled could influence party cohesion and electoral outcomes in the state.
