Governor Peter Mbah has inspected the ongoing New Enugu Smart City and major road projects across the state ahead of their inauguration in the coming weeks.

The inspection covered the 40km Owo-Ubahu-Amankanu-Umualor-Neke-Ikem dual carriageway, the 14.5km Amechi Idodo-Oruku-Amagunze Road, the New Enugu Smart City, and the Enugu International Hospital on Rangers Avenue.

Speaking during the tour, Mbah said the projects are part of his administrationโ€™s vision to transform Enugu into a major hub for investment, business, tourism, and modern living. He described the new road networks as gateways that will open up rural communities, improve access to farmlands, and create fresh economic opportunities for residents.

The governor also expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on the projects, assuring that many of them would soon be ready for commissioning. At the New Enugu Smart City, construction continues on primary, secondary, and tertiary roads, alongside integrated underground infrastructure for power, water, gas, sewage, and internet services.

Mbah reaffirmed his administrationโ€™s commitment to expanding infrastructure development across the state as part of efforts to drive economic growth and improve connectivity.
