Solskjaer Criticizes Man Utd’s Strikers After 3-0 Win At Aston Villa

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, on Thursday criticised his side’s finishing in their 3-0 win against Aston Villa.

Speaking after the game, Solskjaer said his forward line must learn to be more “clinical”.

Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring from the penalty spot, before Mason Greenwood smashed in his 16th goal of the season.

Paul Pogba scored his first goal of the campaign after the break, as United became the first team to score three or more in four consecutive Premier League fixtures.

The win means United are just one point short of Leicester City in fourth and two points below Chelsea in third.

With such fine margins between the teams, goal difference could become a factor for a Champions League spot and Solskjaer says he was unhappy with his side for failing to score more against Villa.

“I don’t know about how other teams feel when they play us but we scored three today.

“If we’re talking about goal difference then the defenders have done their jobs [with the clean sheet] but we created chances and we could have scored three, four or five more.

“Of course you’re happy with the way in which we create chances but you have to be more clinical,” he said.
