Outrage As Governor Dapo Abiodun Wins Silverbird ‘Man Of The Year’ Award
3 min readThere is an uproar on social media following Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun beating his rivals to clinch the ‘Silverbird Man of The Year’ award.
Recall that the Governor of Ogun State had received the Silverbird Man of The Year award on Sunday, March 3rd at the Convention Center, Eko Hotels and Sites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
Prince Abiodun emerged as the 2023 Man of the Year after beating four other nominees through a rigorous voting process.
According to a statement by Jacob Akinyemi Johnson, the Chief Creative Officer/Chairman Editorial Board of Silverbird Group, he said the Governor won after obtaining 70 percent of the votes.
In a statement on his Twitter page, Dapo Abiodun stated that receiving the award is a true testament his unwavering commitment to creating a brighter future for the people of Ogun State.

He noted how for the past few years, his administration has prioritized good governance as their top priority and he is proud to have worked diligently towards the goal with sincerity and dedication.
Prince Abiodun extended his heartfelt thanks to Silverbird Group for recognizing his efforts and honoring him with the unique award.

Many who felt the Governor wasn’t deserving of the prestigious award took to social media to drag the award organizers.
