OLUREMI TINUBU GIVES QUR’ANIC COMPETITION WINNER N20M
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has rewarded Maryam Ibrahim Dan’Azumi, winner of the King Abdulaziz International Qur’anic Competition in Saudi Arabia, with N20 million.
Maryam, from Gombe State, emerged victorious in the women’s category of the prestigious international competition after competing against Qur’anic scholars from different countries.
She reportedly scored 97.70 per cent in the category involving memorisation of the Holy Qur’an, recitation, Tajweed and interpretation.
Receiving Maryam at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the First Lady commended the young scholar for her outstanding performance and for bringing recognition to Nigeria through her achievement.
Oluremi Tinubu also acknowledged the efforts of Maryam’s parents and teachers, who supported her Qur’anic education and development.
The First Lady encouraged the young winner to remain committed to her studies and continue serving as an inspiration to other young Nigerians.
She also expressed her willingness to support Maryam’s further educational development, including her ambition to pursue postgraduate studies.
Maryam was accompanied to the Presidential Villa by her parents, teachers, representatives of the Gombe State Government and other members of the delegation.
Her victory marks another major achievement for Nigeria in international Qur’anic competitions and has drawn commendation from leaders and members of the public.
