OGUN GOV STOOD SURETY FOR IGBOHO’S RETURN TO BURY MOTHER — LAWYER

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, agreed to stand as surety for Yoruba activist Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, to enable him return to Nigeria for the burial of his mother, according to his lawyer.
The lawyer disclosed that arrangements were made to facilitate Igboho’s return to the country despite the legal circumstances surrounding his previous departure from Nigeria.
According to the lawyer, Abiodun’s willingness to stand as surety was aimed at ensuring that Igboho could return home to pay his final respects to his late mother.
Igboho, who had spent years outside Nigeria following legal and political controversies, returned to the country amid arrangements surrounding his mother’s burial.
The development highlights the circumstances surrounding Igboho’s return and the role played by the Ogun State governor in providing the necessary assurance for his temporary return.
The lawyer said the arrangement was specifically connected to the burial and should be viewed within that context.
