After several months of controversy and confusion, Prophet Ireti Ajanaku, the late founder of the Christ Revival Victory Church who died in August, 2013 will be buried on Thursday, July 17.

The obsequy was initially delayed owing to lingering disagreement among the deceased’s family on where he should be buried. The late pastor’s widow, Joy, at a point also refused to release the corpse of her husband, believing her husband never died. All these, along with other controversies stalled the funeral.

And now having resolved their differences and coming to the reality that the prophet is gone forever; the family has now announced July 17 as the date for the burial. But there seems to be a mystery behind the date. According to the Joy, she said she delayed the funeral of her husband till now because Ajanaku himself picked the day, July 17. “It is part of what I discovered. It’s part of his misery that made me say that he has what other men of God don’t have. Seven is a perfect number. Everything about his life had something in common with seven. I know it is not a coincidence. It is a divine ordination from God Almighty.

Like his date of birth, his house address where we were, was number 17. All the tenants in the house were 17. The land where we have the house was given to him. That was the only land that we have on the street and why is it 17? The church address is number 17 too. That is how God has been handling his life,” her words read in part.
