MIKEL OBI TROLLS ARSENAL OVER VINICIUS JUNIOR SIGNING

Former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has taken a swipe at Arsenal following their failed attempt to sign Real Madrid superstar Vinícius Júnior.
Mikel, speaking on his Obi One Podcast, questioned why the Brazilian forward would leave Real Madrid for Arsenal, particularly given the Spanish club’s recent dominance in European football.
The Nigerian football legend suggested that Arsenal supporters were overly confident about the possibility of landing Vinícius and mocked the belief that the 26-year-old would choose the Premier League champions over Real Madrid.
Vinícius has since committed his future to Real Madrid by agreeing to a new contract that will reportedly keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until 2032.
Mikel’s comments have sparked reactions among Arsenal fans, with the former Chelsea midfielder standing by his view that Vinícius was unlikely to leave Madrid for North London.
Arsenal had explored the possibility of signing the Brazilian after reports emerged that negotiations over a new Real Madrid contract had stalled.
