Memorial: Jehovah’s Witnesses To Celebrate Jesus’ Death On March 31st

1 min read

Come Saturday March 31st, 2018, millions of people around the world would gather after the sunset to commemorate the death of the greatest man who ever lived on earth, Jesus Christ.

Prior to his death, Jesus instituted the memorial in remembrance of his sacrificial death. According to the holy book, bible, Jesus after sharing a piece of bread which he said represents his sinless flesh and afterwards a wine, which represent his blood, commanded his apostles and by extension his disciples to “keep doing this in remembrance of” him.

Therefore, in obedience to that command, Jehovah’s Witnesses across the world are set to hold a memorial to celebrate his death.

This annual event by Jehovah’s Witnesses, is also called the “Lord’s Evening Meal” and it was instituted on Nisan 14 of the Jewish calendar by Jesus Christ. And interestingly, this year Nisan 14 falls on 31st March 2018.

For the past 3 weeks, Jehovah’s Witnesses have been distributing an invitation inviting people to the epic event. The invitation has the time and venue of where the event will hold at their local kingdom halls as they fondly call their church buildings. And here is a video of what they do at the highly publicized event.
