Man Kills 100-Year-Old Mother In Osun Over Palm Oil Proceeds

Operatives of the Osun State Police Command has arrested a 63-year-old man, Lukman Adejoju for the alleged killing of his 100-year-old mother.

 

It was gathered that Adejoju, a resident of Kajola village, Apomu in Isokan local government area of the state allegedly killed his mother, Aminat over palm oil sales.

 

The spokesperson of the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola while confirming the arrest, revealed that the suspect and his mother were both going to the farm when the quarrel started.

Opalola also disclosed that the suspect confessed that he pushed the deceased and she fell and died.

He has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department in the headquarters in Osogbo for further investigations,” the PPRO said.

 

The incident, ,it was also gathered, led to tension in the community, with police personnel and NSCDC operatives intervening to douse the tension.

 

Also, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Osun State Command, Kehinde Adeleke, said the suspect was arrested and taken to a police station in Apomu.

 

She added that normalcy had returned to the village where the incident happened.
