Ibadan Golf Club elects captain

1 min read

The Ibadan Golf Club has elected Idowu Salami as its new captain after a poll that returned him unopposed.

Salami’s election as the captain also came after he was nominated by a member of the club, Bashir Ayinde.

Salami, a 1990 law graduate from the University of Lagos, joined the club in 2005 and had served as the club’s secretary and later second vice captain.

In his acceptance speech, Salami expressed his delight at the opportunity to lead the IGC, saying it was also an opportunity to take the club to a new height.

He said, “It is an extreme honour and rare privilege to be elected as the captain of the influential IGC. Considering the enviable status and the pedigree of the club, I am overwhelmed by the level of support I got from members.”
