GIt’s Sad People Celebrate The Dead More Than The Living –Leo DaSilva

2 min read

Ex- Big Brother Naija housemate and entrepreneur, Leo DaSilva, has said that (some) people celebrate those who are dead more than those who are alive. In an interview with Sunday Scoop, he said, “It is just how human beings are. (Some) people don’t really celebrate others when they are alive. It is when they are dead that they see the need to celebrate people; perhaps, because they saw them as competition. I have seen that happen a lot.”

Speaking on what prompted him to make a post about those who died but their deaths were not talked about on social media till after some years, he said, “A few days ago, I looked through the people who I followed on Instagram and I noticed that one of them died in 2017. I checked his last post and saw many ‘rest in peace’ comments, yet his death did not trend on social media. It made me think that there are many people like that who died and did not have many friends, and the people that followed them (online) did not even know that they had died.”

On if he has ever felt pressured to keep up a certain kind of lifestyle as a former Big Brother Naija housemate, DaSilva said, “I had a strict plan while going into the show. I wanted to just advertise my brand and leave. It is when one does not have a plan that one would be under social pressures. I have been working hard all my life and I have been following my plans.”
