FG swaps pro-chancellors of Dutsin-Ma, Birnin Kebbi universities

The Federal Government has approved the swapping of pro-chancellors between the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, and the Federal University, Birnin Kebbi, as part of ongoing reforms in the education sector.

Under the new arrangement, retired Colonel Abdulmuminu Aminu, who was serving as the Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, has been transferred to the Federal University, Birnin Kebbi.

Similarly, Ali Abubakar Jatau, the Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University, Birnin Kebbi, will now serve as the Pro-Chancellor of the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma.

The transfer takes immediate effect, according to a statement issued on Monday by Mrs Folasade Boriowo, Director of Press and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Education.

Boriowo explained that the decision to swap the pro-chancellors aligns with the governmentโ€™s broader reforms aimed at promoting fairness, transparency, and good governance across the nationโ€™s universities.

The Minister of Education, Dr Olatunji Alausa, while approving the changes, stressed the administrationโ€™s commitment to strengthening the university system.

With the renewed reforms going on in the education system, we are determined to ensure fairness, transparency, and a high level of governance across all our universities, ensuring that our children receive the right education in the most conducive environment,โ€ he said.

The move forms part of a series of measures being undertaken by the Federal Government to enhance the quality of education and ensure the efficient management of higher institutions in the country.
