FG, LAGOS SET UP COMMITTEES FOR 24-HOUR POWER SUPPLY
The Federal Government and the Lagos State Government have set up joint committees to develop and implement measures aimed at achieving 24-hour electricity supply across the state.
The committees are expected to bring together relevant federal and state agencies, electricity market operators and other stakeholders to address challenges affecting reliable power supply in Lagos.
The initiative is aimed at improving electricity availability for homes, businesses and industries, with particular attention to strengthening infrastructure and ensuring more efficient coordination between the federal and state authorities.
The collaboration comes as Lagos continues to pursue measures to improve its electricity market and attract investment into the power sector.
The committees are expected to identify key areas requiring intervention, develop practical solutions and monitor the implementation of agreed measures towards achieving more reliable electricity supply.
The Federal Government and Lagos State have also emphasised the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in addressing infrastructure, distribution and other challenges within the electricity sector.
If successfully implemented, the initiative could provide businesses and residents with more consistent power while reducing reliance on alternative sources of electricity.
