Arsenal Board Set To Bring Arsene Wenger Back

1 min read

Arsenal’s board is working on bringing Arsene Wenger back to the club, the UK Mirror reports.

Wenger has not returned to the Emirates, since he left in 2018 after 22 years in charge of the Gunners.

The Frenchman was replaced by Unai Emery, who was sacked in December.

Wenger’s former captain, Mikel Arteta, is now in charge of the team.

The club’s hierarchy are trying to convince Wenger, who has landed a job with FIFA, to return.

The board feel the 67-year-old’s return, would serve as a boost to the fans and increase the support for Arteta.

Senior figures at the club have already spoken to Wenger about the prospect of a return and there has been discussions about a statute in his honour.
