APC Sets January 6 For Bye-Election Primaries

In preparation for the February 3 bye-elections, the APC sets expression of interest and nomination form prices at N20 million for Senate, N10 million for the House of Representatives, and N2 million for State House of Assembly.

The APC national organizing secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, revealed that for the senatorial seat, the expression of interest form is N3 million, and the nomination form is N17 million.

Argungu said that the House of Representatives, it’s N1 million for expression of interest and N9 million for nomination while State House of Assembly expression of interest is N500,000, and the nomination form is N1.5 million.

He added that Female aspirants and those with disabilities get free expression of interest forms, while youths (25-40 years) pay 50% for both forms.

The former deputy governor of Kebbi State further disclosed that delegates who will nominate the candidates are to purchase forms at N5000.

The APC national organising secretary also said both the expression of interest and nomination forms will be purchased at the party’s national Secretariat, Wuse 2 Abuja.

 

He said the sale of the forms will begin on Wednesday, December 27, while the last day for submission is on January 3, 2024.

Argungu equally stated that the primary election will take place on January 6 and primary appeal is to sit on January 7 while list of candidates would be sent to the INEC on January 9, 2024.

 

“The party hereby makes public its Timetable and Schedule of Activities leading to the 3rd February, 2024Bye-Elections as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission,” the notice reads.
