Aliko Dangote Names Refinery Access Road After Late Herbert Wigwe

Aliko Dangote has chosen to honor the late banking icon, Herbert Wigwe, by naming a significant road leading to the Dangote Refinery after him.

 

Dangote made this announcement during a tribute event for Wigwe, emphasizing his deep bond with Wigwe as a friend, brother, and mentee.

In a rather emotional tone, Dangote described Herbert as a visionary, whose legacy in philanthropy will never be forgotten. “He was a pillar of strength and support for me and my family,” Dangote said.

The decision to name a major section of the refinery road, spanning 120 kilometers, after Herbert Wigwe serves as a lasting tribute to his memory.

The businessman and philanthropist said, “To immortalise my beloved friend, my brother, and my mentee, I have actually decided to name of a major refinery and petrochemical road, out of the 120 kilometers, the biggest road will now be named ‘Herbert Wigwe.

Herbert Wigwe, the Group CEO of Access Bank, tragically passed away in a helicopter accident in the United States, alongside his wife, son, and former group chairman of the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc, Abimbola Ogunbanjo.
