AIG Urges Youths to Partner Police for Peaceful 2027 Elections

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2 Command, Olohundare Jimoh, has called on Nigerian youths to work closely with the police and other security agencies to ensure peaceful, credible and violence-free elections in 2027.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ engagement, Jimoh stressed that the success of the electoral process depends on active community participation, urging young people to reject violence, political thuggery and other forms of electoral misconduct.
He also highlighted the importance of community policing, civic responsibility and mutual trust between citizens and law enforcement agencies, noting that security is a shared responsibility.
The AIG appealed to youths to embrace peaceful engagement and contribute positively to strengthening Nigeria’s democracy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
