AFRICAN TECH: FROM SURVIVAL TO SCALE

African technology leaders have outlined a bold vision for the continent’s tech ecosystem, saying the next decade must be driven by innovation, local investment, and sustainable growth rather than survival.

At a high-level industry discussion, experts said Africa must focus on building stronger education systems, developing capable leaders, investing in climate technology, and increasing access to local capital by 2030.

They argued that while African startups have shown resilience in recent years, long-term success will depend on creating home-grown solutions, nurturing talent, and reducing dependence on foreign funding.

The speakers also highlighted the need for governments, investors, and the private sector to work together to create an environment where technology businesses can scale across the continent.

According to the industry leaders, the decisions made over the next few years will determine whether Africa becomes a global technology powerhouse in the decade ahead.
