Former Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu, has warned goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali not to get carried away with accolades from fans.
Nwabali, who is making his competitive debut for Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, has been in fine form for the team.
He kept a clean sheet as the Eagles beat Ivory Coast 1-0 on Thursday.
The three-time African champions needed a William Troost-Ekong penalty to see off the hosts at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium Ebimpe, Abidjan
Troost-EKong scored the decisive goal from the spot in the 56th after Osimhen was fouled inside the box.
Ogu tweeted after the game: “Dear NWABALI, don’t let all this their shout get to you o!! Stay focus and work hard . E get why !!!”
Nigeria’s last Group A game will be against Guinea-Bissau.
Dear NWABALI, don’t let all this their shout get to you o!! Stay focus and work hard . E get why !!!
