ACF ‘CONGRATULATES’ BWALA FOR ADMITTING TINUBU’S REFORMS DEEPEN POVERTY

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has sarcastically congratulated Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, for what it described as his admission that the administration’s economic reforms have worsened poverty and hardship among Nigerians.
ACF National Publicity Secretary, Professor Tukur Mohammed-Baba, made the remarks during an interview on Arise Television’s News Day on Thursday.
Mohammed-Baba said Bwala’s comments appeared to acknowledge concerns the forum had repeatedly raised about the impact of government policies on ordinary Nigerians.
The northern socio-cultural organisation has consistently expressed concerns over rising living costs, poverty and the economic difficulties facing households, particularly in northern Nigeria.
The ACF maintained that economic reforms should be assessed not only by their long-term objectives but also by their immediate impact on citizens.
The development comes amid continuing debate over President Tinubu’s economic policies, which the Federal Government has defended as necessary measures to stabilise the economy and encourage sustainable growth.
