Ogun Uncovers 30 Unlicensed Nurses On Its Payroll
1 min readThe Director of Nursing in the state, Patience Odutayo, who made this known, said some of the nurses had been practising without valid licences.
The nurses, she said, were uncovered at a recent verification of nurses by the State Hospitals Management Board in Abeokuta.
She revealed that the nursing department of the board embarked on the exercise to ascertain the authenticity of certificates and licences of serving nurses.
Effort by our correspondent to speak to the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Babatunde Ipaye on the matter, did not yield any result, as he did not pick the calls made to his telephone line.
To be a qualified nurse, one must have undergone training and certified by a school of nursing and midwifery and other health-related schools.
