APC DOESN’T WANT OPPOSITION CANDIDATES TO CAMPAIGN ANYWHERE — GALADIMA
Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government of creating obstacles for opposition politicians ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Galadima alleged that opposition candidates were being prevented from freely campaigning across the country, claiming that some had faced attacks when visiting certain areas.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time, he said the opposition was facing restrictions that could undermine free political participation ahead of the elections.
He argued that democracy should guarantee political freedoms, including the right of candidates to campaign, speak and move freely across the country.
Galadima also questioned the enforcement of campaign spending limits, citing the high cost of political advertising and billboards in some states.
He further argued that the cost of campaign billboards could make it difficult for political parties to comply with statutory spending limits.
The NDC chieftain said citizens had a role to play in challenging what he described as restrictions on political activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
