University of Jos Reschedules Exams Over Security Concerns

The University of Jos has announced the rescheduling of examinations earlier slated for Monday and Tuesday following heightened security concerns in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The decision comes in the wake of a reported attack on the Angwan Rukuba community, which has raised fears among students and staff of the institution.

In a statement issued by the university management, the move was described as a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring the safety of all members of the academic community. Students were advised to remain calm and stay informed through official communication channels regarding new examination dates.

University authorities emphasized that the rescheduling was necessary to avoid exposing students to potential risks, especially those who may need to travel through affected areas.

Security agencies have reportedly been deployed to restore calm in the affected community, while residents continue to assess the situation following the incident.

The institution assured students that a new timetable for the affected examinations will be communicated in due course, urging them to prioritize their safety during this period.
