El-Rufai Returns Home as ICPC Grants Compassionate Release for Mother’s Burial

Abuja / Kaduna — Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has been temporarily released from custody by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on compassionate grounds to attend the burial of his late mother.

 

According to sources, the decision was taken to allow El-Rufai participate in final rites and pay his last respects to his mother, in line with humanitarian considerations. He was subsequently seen returning home ahead of the burial ceremony.

 

The ICPC has not publicly disclosed further details regarding the conditions of his release but is expected to continue with its processes following the temporary arrangement.
