PENGASSAN to Engage Presidential Committee Over Tinubu’s Executive Order

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) is scheduled to meet with a presidential committee on Wednesday to deliberate on issues arising from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s executive order on direct oil revenue remittance.

The meeting follows concerns raised by the union regarding the policy’s potential implications for the oil and gas sector, particularly in areas of revenue administration and regulatory processes. PENGASSAN has indicated that the engagement aims to clarify grey areas and ensure that stakeholder interests are adequately considered.

Sources familiar with the development suggest that discussions will focus on the operational and legal dimensions of the directive, as well as its broader impact on industry stability. The dialogue is expected to provide a platform for constructive exchange between government representatives and sector professionals.

The executive order has generated significant debate within policy and energy circles, drawing attention to governance frameworks and financial management in Nigeria’s petroleum industry. Observers note that the outcome of the meeting could influence future engagements and possible adjustments.

Both parties are anticipated to outline their positions, with expectations of further consultations if necessary.
