Lagos govt seals property in Ikosi-Ketu over illegal waste disposal

Lagos State Government has sealed a property located at 32 Ogunkoya Street, Ikosi-Ketu, following verified reports of unlawful waste dumping on the premises.

 

The Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr Tokunbo Wahab, made the disclosure through his official handle on X, noting that the enforcement team swiftly intervened after receiving complaints from residents in the area.

 

Wahab confirmed that the enforcement team visited the location on Monday evening, where they verified the environmental infraction and took immediate action by sealing off the premises.

 

The commissioner emphasized that Lagos State would not tolerate practices that degrade the environment.

 

He added that surveillance and enforcement operations are being intensified across communities to ensure compliance.

 

“This should serve as a clear warning, Lagos will not condone environmental sabotage,” the enforcement team stated, assuring the public that round-the-clock monitoring continues in all neighbourhoods.
